#Clearmovers: Dina Annzee, Corporate Strategy Executive

Your role in Clearmove sounds like ‘Corporate Strategy Executive’. Please tell us more about it and your current projects.

My role involves:

  1. Working closely with senior management in identifying long term strategy and aligning it with short term goals.

  2. Provide senior management with recommendations for timing, leadership, and guidelines for policy changes.

  3. Work with functional teams across different departments on setting goals as well as keeping track of execution of tasks and supporting with challenges or difficulties they may face.

  4. Monitor all initiatives across organisation to make sure they align with our long-term goals.

  5. Ensuring that conflicts and matters are handled proactively.

What did you do before joining Clearmove?

I worked for various property management / acquisition companies, took a Master’s in innovation and entrepreneurship.

I’ve heard that you are doing a PhD.

Yes, I’m taking a PhD in Entrepreneurial Identity; this is a mix between business and psychology which perfectly suits my role at Clearmove, since it involves working with others empathetically as well as successfully undergoing business activities.

What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here?

When I was accepted onto a PhD course and the company supported me by writing an amazing reference & was extremely understanding of me doing both.

What have you learned for this 1 year at Clearmove?

I have learnt the realities of business & that hard work is never overlooked.

What was your best day at work?

My first trip to Ukraine, this taught me how a business is set up, during the few days we were there we found an office, interviewed lawyers, accountants, employees etc.

What motivates you to do your job?

What motivates me is my fear of mediocrity, I’ve never wanted to have an average 9 – 5 job where I’m doing the same thing every day. At Clearmove my job is never the same thing each day and that keeps me going.

Teamwork: I believe what makes a job great is learning and growing from others around us, having a an amazing team which I care about has been one of the most important aspects of my job

What’s your future career plans?

I would like to continue my work at Clearmove & grow to a COO position.

What makes you happy? Feeling as though I am working towards something that will outlive me, this is the reason why I am taking a PhD in order to build a project which supports female entrepreneurship in the Middle East.
